One of the core things that is underrated in creating anything: a company, a work of art, a relationship, a book, a vase - is patience. Patience with yourself, patience with others, patience with nature, the process Taking the time to take the time to appreciate the process makes it easier to process it; to be patient

I am a pretty impatient person. It’s hard for me to patient. But patience is a skill, and it’s easy to develop any skill (at the end of the day) if you’re willing to spend the time cultivating it. As with anything then, it’s about what are you willing to spend your time on. Patience can be developed

I need to get better at this. Every non-optimal decision I’ve made has been (at least partly) a result of rushing myself - feeling like I had to make a decision immediately. Sometimes worth just taking a deep breath and doing something else for a few hours.

The process of patience is the process of making your mind *sit* It’s why meditation is an important skill to develop. It’s making the mind (and the body ofc) just sit. It expands time by not expending it.

There’s some wired combination of patience for results, impatience for action and some wired irreverence to risk . I suck at all of these 😂

This! And to love the process, to abandon in some ways the outcome, it makes the end result better. Dancing with the unforeseen and dwelling in uncertainty, I think we arrive closer to the realm beyond right doing and wrongdoing, to quote Rumi. Prometheus candy shop

You know, I think Mary Oliver said write all the time to be there for the inspiration and Neil Young said something like abandon any song that can't be written in 5 minutes. All of this requires patience, haha. Thank you!

Been thinking a lot about some of the ideas you've shared here, among them patience, heat death, going slowly. I resonate so fully with much of it and wanted to share a piece in three parts. Eine Kleine GM Music I https://drakula.app/post/4f738956-d770-4c57-a3cd-52dda8637eed?invite=JqFpJF
