How could we make memberships better for you?

So, right now, it's a bit confusing that there are "subscriptions" (offchain?) and membership and token gating. My hunch is that theyt are all the same thing: a way for a user to access content if (and only if) they meet a certain condition.
This condition is whether they have a NFT and _how_ they got the NFT (offchain payment, onchain payment... is irrelevant)

Geenrally I think there are too many concepts to grasp: "gate", "membership", "subscriptions", "tokens"... 

I would maybe consider a simpler UI where upon publishing I can either make someting "available for everyone" or "restricted" and, if I chose "restricted", I can then enter a single criteria "token ownership", "stripe subscription".

What types of changes would you make? Would you deprecate some of these monetization features and focus on only one membership feature (eg credit card subscriptions OR NFT memberships OR token-gating)? Or thinking of other types of changes?
