Can someone explain why a US CBDC would be bad? (I get the Circle wouldn't like it, but for the rest of the industry?)

basically ask yourself if you want the state to be able to control if/how you can send your money and to whom. could be wielded as a cudgel based on your political views, employer, credit score, almost anything. should scare leftists just as much as libertarians.

The biggest fear is being discriminated against or possibly arrested for the purchases you make or organizations you support. It is especially problematic in the US where states have different laws on what is and isn't illegal

Because it’s a tool for control. It can be turned off, expired, or only used at certain places. Full surveillance state. This is their final goal. This has already unfolded in china it’s not a guess.
