It’s a great idea. Read everything, expect you know nothing, and actively practice what you read. Self-Reliance by Emerson is a good start.

I’d first pause to consider what questions you’re most interested in: what does it mean to love a good life, etc. Information sticks better when there’s a reason for it. The School of Life on youtube has great short, intentionally paired down videos on many many philosophical questions.

Depends on what you like to read & how dense you like to go? Do u want something introductory that can then take you deeper? OR do you like the dense stuff and want to dive right in? I'm partial to dense, so I like to read directly from certain philosophers. But the introductory helps to set up the historical context.

starts with the classics and work your way up, always read a book and then go through different 3rd party analysis to find which one you agree with. Then look at which current the analysis belong to and either go deeper in it or look for opposed views and find the classics in this current. rinse and repeat

I’d recommend Albert Camus. He was an existentialist writer. Books are fiction, and he won a Nobel Prize in Literature. I’d start with The Stranger. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Albert_Camus?wprov=sfti1
