Bread making advice needed :) Iโ€™ve been learning how to bake bread with yeast this year. Often I find that my bread turns out quite dense instead of chewy and soft (see the sandwich bread photo below). Does anyone have any advice on how to improve homemade breadโ€™s texture? Any tips and/or beginner friendly bread recipes would be much appreciated! :)

1. Get new yeast just in case 2. Proof in your oven and stick a thermometer in there to ensure itโ€™s warm enough. A bowl of boiling water inside the oven should make it about the right temperature.

If your oven doesn't work for whatever reason, there exist proofing boxes that can help maintain an environment at a temperature hospitable for yeast.
