had a chat about this recently (i think w @atlas) and there's a good argument that web3 is far from the final iteration of the internet and it's more like an interim period of rapid experimentation and exploration with tools and systems that are currently siloed or gatekept, e.g. app data and transfer of value

Yeah I like this take a lot. It’s not an actual end state but a massive incubation period. And with incubation, something eventually breaks out. But it can’t remain an insular experiment forever

100% i think stablecoins were the first breakout product, and now the space needs at least one mainstream consumer app (not a wallet or p2p payment app) that makes them work magically i think farcaster is a good place to explore what that app might be, it'll probably have a community backbone

Feels like it might come from Stripe even though they build “developer tools”. They are probably best positioned to make stablecoin usage mainstream
