What do you think about Arc "act II"? I'll also reply with my take. https://youtu.be/WIeJF3kL5ng?si=7jGPtQZWNr3LriBm

What do you think of the product category? Is this competing with ChatGPT?

I think ChatGPT will become less and less relevant as LLMs get more integrated into everything. This is a good example. It's the LLM integrated into the browser so you don't need to use ChatGPT, not even Perplexity, in some scenarios. Others will chip away at other ChatGPT use cases and optimize for them.

Part of me feels like Google (and ChatGPT in the same way) are really powerful products *because* they're just a single search bar on the landing page This eliminates cognitive friction in searching the internet I tried to watch the video, and I didn't really understand the value of how the Arc browser does that

Have you tried Perplexity? ChatGPT/Bard are like a spreadsheet which has tons of options but it's not optimized for any specific use case. If the LLM is integrated into email client or word processor or dev environment, you'll most likely use that one instead of going to ChatGPT or Bard
