i used to think that the pathway to a successful product was to grow on social media, build a following and then ship the thing and make them happy its not true. if your product is not good and doesn't solve a need of them, they won't use it. and it is not personal it is unconscious

Organic is always better than artificial- Sell something good and you won't need marketing for your first steps. Sell something bad and you won't get anything, even with marketing. There are exceptions, of course, but it's a good general rule of thumb.

amazing rule of thumb. did you learn it through experience? what is the most "not wanted thing" you have tried to sell?

Not really, I just watch and observe a lot. I have seen many businesses fail because of stupid decisions. Many businesses didn't even have a shot because their product was downright bad. I really like food and cooking, thus I can be quite critical of food standards. Found many new places in my hometown that have amazing marketing but bad products... they were full for thr first month or so, now they are empty 90% of the time.
