I wonder what people generally think it is they have to do before they die. 

Live a happy life? Leave behind descendants? Leave a monument of art or wealth or thought?

I read Seneca saying there’s really nothing you are expected to do years ago and I’ve been grappling with that since.

if i can change a few hundred people’s lives for the better, put my parents in a place of peace & care, have kids & raise them to be curious & kind, and hold a half dozen life long friends, i’d say i’d have done it all
