This is precisely why I left France and Europe after my last exit. People like Thierry Breton (I have seen him holding top position at Bull, Thomson, France Telecom, Atos... as many major failures), and the politicians who believe they must control everything, are the reason wealth creation gets stifled in Europe. They operate under the assumption that politicians know best and that wealth is something that can only be managed or redistributed, not created. Instead of fostering innovation and trusting in entrepreneurs, policymakers like Breton want to micromanage industries, believing that central planning will somehow outcompete markets. They fail to realize that economic growth comes from risk-takers, founders, and creators; not from bureaucrats issuing mandates. This approach smothers entrepreneurship and incentivizes mediocrity, where decisions are based on political motives rather than actual market demands or technological potential. 1/2

2/2 Europe will never be a global leader in EVs and innovation. It is stuck with people like Breton at the helm who think they can overregulate and lecture industries into success. History has shown that top-down approaches do not create wealth, innovation does. It's tragic for me to watch, and exactly why so many founders, including myself, have decided to build elsewhere.
