<product design rant> i've literally never in my life gone to an event so i could get a POAP. but i sure as hell went for a run this weekend bc i wanted the receipt. the takeaway? functionality gets you to the door... creativity makes you actually want to see what's on the other side.

its shareable (culturally resonant outside of web3, the aesthetic is well considered), and its got a fun rarity quality (running distance, time, or consistency is something really personal to be proud of). not that i think POAPs can never be this.. i've just seen them offered as an afterthought more often than not

nailed it! the creativity of the on chain output, and the incentives on the table. it doesn't just have to be personalization, what i love the most about web3 is you can create really fun, unique incentives. i get grumbly when a dapp doesn't go further than "we took a thing, and put it on the blockchain"

Also interested to hear more… like the creativity of the on chain output? in that a receipt is unique to you and what you invested personally vs a generic POAP?
