at @pimlico we're very focused on giving devs full transparency on their spending we've been reworking our billing page with that in mind: - upcoming invoice section is clearer, with projections - breakdowns for spending limits any feedback / suggestions are very welcome :)

Haven't seen a lot of chatter on o1-mini yet, but for me it is the sweet spot between speed and performance. It plowed through quite a few tasks that Claude couldn't handle and response wait times are very reasonable.

I am enjoying learning more about the Chinese tech ecosystem. Any recommendations for a complete foreigner to better understand the landscape? Books, blogs, products ...

What if cities and governments were built by startups? Is there a better way to organize society in the 21st century? Over the past few decades, the Internet has profoundly transformed our economy. Now, the tech community is challenging the most powerful and longstanding institutional monopolies. How? Discover in the coming documentary "What If It's a Startup". September 22nd. @balajis.eth

The perception of caring for Hondurans is more important than actually doing something about it. That is the game.

It's insane how easily people fall for this type of crap. No one looks deeper into the matter; they just believe every piece of propaganda out there. Prospera is a completely legal project being used as a scapegoat or imaginary enemy by a far-left socialist government trying to seize power (as they always do). I lived there for months. Prospera represents a small territory on the island of Roatan, bringing investment and innovation to the country for the first time. For decades, the country was dominated by corrupt governments, resulting in widespread violence and extreme poverty. But it seems liberal rich people from US didn't care then. But as soon as someone steps in to try to solve the problem, it becomes a hot topic, and suddenly everyone seems to care about Hondurans. The special economic zones operating under the Prospera constitution offer hope, bringing innovations and dignity to the population without any risk for the population whatsoever.

Every day I am reminded that I can't access X without paying a huge fine. Most of my Brazilian friends have already forgot about it 🥲 Slowly boiling the frog and taking civil liberties away.

Pop up cities and network states are some of the most promising tools we have for better governance. Great to see efforts being made in translating those ideas to wider audiences!

The collapse of corporate journalism is evident and accelerating rapidly. The question that remains is: what will fill this void? For me, it will be the Networks. New article. https://paragraph.xyz/@peerbase/the-collapse-of-media-and-the-rise-of-networks

Arresting Pavel Durov in France. Making VPN access of Twitter illegal in Brazil. Jailing Tornado Cash developer in the Netherlands. The honeymoon between governments and the internet is over - they now want control. If it's not decentralized it will be controlled or killed.

If Twitter/X is serious about free speech and neutrality it should decentralize. Unverifiable neutrality is not the way.

Law is mostly poorly written software. No refactor, no unit testing, no monitoring, deploy to prod, not data driven...

There are 3 components to the X ban in Brazil: 1. X not complying with court orders 2. Court banning X 3. Fining users $10k per day Not making the distinctions makes for very unproductive conversations. It is a slunk dunk that X should be banned it not compliant. That makes it very easy to avoid the other topics.
