I'm not about to change my values. even just pragmatically speaking, I'm trans and I'm not gonna throw myself to the wolves. but if I don't find a way to break out of the echo chamber I'm gonna keep getting shit wrong and it'll only hurt me.

I’ve been trying to cultivate different viewpoints in /politics for this reason.

I think your earlier long thread expounding the downsides of being a progressive writer was a very exhaustive diagnostic for the present situation.

Which means that you have all the facts at your disposal to consider where to take your writing next to a place that doesn’t jeopardize your income and audience but allows you to still be relevant and meaningful, while maintaining your core values (even if you don’t make them the centerpiece as much).
