I took two pieces I wrote on my Freewrite, from start to finish, and one piece from The New York Times, and ran them through AI detectors. They're only 50% certain that one of my pieces is human. The other, AND the NYT reporting, are flagged as AI. Be careful with this shit.

I am a huge believer in creating and supporting real content over the pipeline of slop. But relying on these snake-oil tools to guess at the humanity of a writer and then punish them over the results is a dangerous path to go down. The truth is - they don't fucking know. And neither do you.

I have had similar results when trying some of those AI "detectors" - definitely wouldn't trust them.

Good to know that you are such a good and thorough writer it thinks you are AI 😭 I look at it as a compliment. When I analyze anything I wrote it labels me as [redacted].
