Philosophically, no. 

Crypto has had 15 years since the white paper to create a self sufficient and self contained non predatory culture. It hasn’t happened yet. 

If it can’t do it with Farcaster, it can’t do it at all.

Once again, the decentralized dream becomes dependent on a VC monopoly play?

Negative.

First, Farcaster is unlikely to fail.

Second, it only represents the VC/web3 side of crypto, specifically, ETH and the culture that surrounds it.

Third, I and II reinforce one another, creating a virtuous cycle.
