Farcaster Rewards are great. If they can scale ~10-100x we will start to see people who can make a full-time living off of posting content on Warpcast, even if they have no other form of monetization. That's powerful.

Do you think this financially makes sense for Merkle? e.g. giving away $1k/week to the top 10 and $500/week to the top 30?

I suspect the ROI as marketing is quite good tbh. They probably were able to measure impact on onboarding? Engagement using AB testing of top accounts? I can attest, that it did work until I turned off notifications because I felt baited haha

Depends how well they are able to monetize other parts of the business. To compete with other at-scale social platforms you need to pay creators a lot if you want the best content.
