How would the Nouns DAO/protocol look different if it were launched in 2025?

If launched now, it probably wouldn't see consistent auction prices of hundreds or dozens of ETH, and would likely fade away quietly like most NFT projects.

Looking back, Nouns perhaps chose the perfect launch timing, gaining enough attention during the bull market bubble to attract sufficient funding. Even after experiencing 3 forks and having its treasury funds cut multiple times, it still has reserves and participants who care about its development, who are thinking about its future direction and spending money to ensure the daily auctions don't fail.

Definitely diff aesthetic, and probably launched on L2

Very likely would’ve been a one-time memecoin game plus a daily thing

cheaper

mainnet didn’t scale for enough for these ideas to grow wider

much better tooling/infra now

i’d hope that the branding/taste was a bit better too tbh
