- have an awesome wedding (we've been married for two years, but now get to celebrate) - get ready emotionally and logistically to have kids - continue building personal habits that keep me happy, centered, and connected to the people I love

Being parents is one of the most amazing experiences! Not enough people praised parenthood around me - I can attest there is nothing like it. Congrats on your journey so far Jesse!

Solid goals. Weddings are the best. It’s pretty much the only time in your life you get to invite all your favorite peeps to come party w/ you, and they’ll all jump thru hoops to make it happen. I have two boys (oldest turned 8 today!). Wish someone had told me about the importance of your 3rd goal. Self care ftw.

Make sure you habitually get to bed early if you have kids. Your night sleeps will be hugely disturbed and you may not be as productive tired.

In my experience you’re never “ready” to have a kid. It fundamentally changes you as a person. But you’re glad you did. Preparation is wise so do that for sure — but don’t psych yourself out by needing to feel “ready”. That’s what the 9-month pregnancy is for. 😉 / unsolicited input
