The first non-speculator customers are still crypto natives / terminally onchain

These customers are increasingly on Farcaster

Look for the apps that use this distribution channel intelligently

Re-upping my post from 1.5 years ago on "layer 3s":

The summary is that layer 3s don't magically improve throughput even more, though they can reduce some fixed costs of batch publishing and deposits/withdrawals.

L3s:
(1) “Rollups on top of rollups” for scalability shouldn’t be default L3 use case
(2) L3 as a “layer for custom functionality of different use cases” = ok
(3) /degen chain on @base - implements Arbitrum to switch native token and support smart contract dev in more languages (eg Rust), aligns with (2)

This is pretty cool. The mint purchase process via OpenSea, however, still has LOTS of steps to complete - bit cumbersome for average ppl. But it’s nice to see more experimentation.

farcaster/social graph based token distribution is going to be the norm vs big one-off token launches

it’s a significantly better way to incentivize and run a community because it integrates a social layer

all tokens and currencies are social instruments that ossify, social graphs allow for that to truly take shape

Open social graphs add a new fun element to the distribution + token design space

Nice to see a few Farcaster tools represented in this a16z crypto startup school cohort
