a bunch more thoughts on content coins, in response to some great questions from the legend @proxystudio.eth https://x.com/jessepollak/status/1912547035989061713

The point about content coins being a fair form of valuation through the market (instead of centralized platforms) really resonates with me. It allows more creators to earn the value they truly deserve.

I think at the minimum - our wallet tech and UX is far from collecting pieces of content for as cheap as $0.10 it’s just too many actions, collect with a single tap goes much further UX wise second is that it’s not easy to view whatever you collected unless it does 1000x and you have $100 from these ten cents

Why coins? Why not call them tokens?

Ty for substantiating more of the specific claims! (Legitimately so) This is the sort of response I'd prefer over some of the earlier responses like "coining all content is the future, get used to it, it's based" Will have more of a think and respond But at least this brings up concrete places to disagree like how creators deal with obligations or how much they should expect to get paid vs alrernative schemes

this is exactly what im thinking about. default and widely adopted meme and project coin valuation model doesnt apply to content coins, and this is the part that can confuse people. you can apply new tech and different patterns to this type of coins like you suggested to make separate ‘buy’ button for each cast etc

Why does content have to be a tradeable ERC20 with a market immediately tied to if on launch? It guarantees that someone will lose money on it, and that's alienating. Potentially devastating. What is wrong with the model of a perpetually open NFT mint? 100% of mint proceeds are going to the creator, where they belong. If you want to rage quit the creator you can accept a bid on secondary, which probably isn't that far off mint price.

Good thoughts & I appreciate your mental energy going to it. I think it’s another tool in the toolbox, but likely benefits from different expectations & mechanisms I don’t think it’s *the* or *a* answer for creators/builders but I feel like it *can* be a part of the puzzle 🙏

is there a support guide / resource that can explain this simply to the artists and creators using the platform. The additional complexity of coins adds a greater barrier to entry for those less used to markets and trading and those just used to creating and posting
