Soft shapes find me
with blended lines,
sinking in, reviving.
Colours I love—pastels
alive with vibrancy.
Softly merging,
my first time with the virus
that stopped the world.
Surreal state, blurred edges;
eggs and pods suggest something tender.
My hand finds paper,
palms glide softly—
the marker sounds scratchy.
Remember how we slowed,
then rushed back to frenzy?
Burnt out again—or close enough.
Could this window be a portal,
incubating soft eggs?
Don’t forget (again)
a nest for yourself—
energy overspent.
Soft shapes linger.
Soft things take time.
Soft bois on hard timelines,
pause a little longer.
Take in, your own medicine.
Flesh speaks through marks—

Sleep, softness, day bed,
