I've had some concerns re: the ongoing social experiment here which is why I've been absent while I think about how to move forward. This is unacceptable behavior from a leader here, and this is not the only example. Trolling the people who use your platform reflects poorly on the Farcaster ecosystem. If you're trying to grow a community, this is a case study in how not to do it.

This feels like a big psychological experiment at this point! Competing for rank/visibility is gross, and now it's clear that you can just buy your way to the top (and it's a more direct path now - no need to engagement farm, just lock degen).

okeee, i did a thing. i staked. πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ i'm not happy about it, but i'm at peace with it. or so i tell myself today. i staked what i earned last season. that degen came from the degen fam, and it somehow felt right to put it back into the community even if i disagree with the current state of things. i've been impressed with the way jacek and the degen team have been open to suggestions on how to improve the system, so hopefully they iterate quickly as usual. most importantly, they must find a way to address the number-go-down issue. the tipping game is a GAME and when people play games they like to go up the leaderboard, not stake a bunch of money and see their allowance go down every day. and that's the only direction it can go for 90 days! you don't need to have a masters in psychology to know that it is demoralizing to watch your allowance go down literally every day. but what to do?!? continued...

Here's what I'm thinking. They're asking us to lock our degen for 3 months in order to be able to tip during this season. I think during this three month lock period they are going to end tipping allos altogether. Having everyone's degen locked will protect the floor when everyone bails when tipping goes away (and MANY will).
