okeee, i did a thing. i staked. 🤷‍♂️ i'm not happy about it, but i'm at peace with it. or so i tell myself today. i staked what i earned last season. that degen came from the degen fam, and it somehow felt right to put it back into the community even if i disagree with the current state of things. i've been impressed with the way jacek and the degen team have been open to suggestions on how to improve the system, so hopefully they iterate quickly as usual. most importantly, they must find a way to address the number-go-down issue. the tipping game is a GAME and when people play games they like to go up the leaderboard, not stake a bunch of money and see their allowance go down every day. and that's the only direction it can go for 90 days! you don't need to have a masters in psychology to know that it is demoralizing to watch your allowance go down literally every day. but what to do?!? continued...

-re-prioritize openrank. either with additional points in the bonus pool or by reducing the impact of the staked amount. personally, i like a 50/50 split. i can somewhat understand the need to prioritize staking, but not the need to abandon openrank and engagement as a factor. quality engagement is too critical. -guarantee an allowance at the time of staking. you stake an amount, this is your allowance for the 90 day lock period. maybe this isn't viable and there needs to be a floor instead? for example, when you stake, the allowance is 2K. the floor says it won't go below 1.5K this lock period. -scale up the allowance pool and max allowance as the locked amount grows. the distribution pool shouldn't be finite. -cap the % that any one staker can impact the pool. this is supposed to be fun, no reason to let bad actors and selfish degens reduce the already small/shrinking allowance pool. -redistribute openrank bonuses of non-stakers so its not wasted ty 🙏

I agree with all comments. Increase the pool seems to be absolutely necessary. Both staking and open rank.

I just read this, and yes, that's right. I completely agree with you, Open Rank must definitely be considered. It involves a lot more people. And more people will be interested in creating good content and communication.

I agree with RJ. Only when the open rank and 5:5 ratio are achieved will the results be achieved, Now I just put in the money and use the tip. There are many people who don't use the application. 50 $degen

I think so long as you're at peace with your decision, it's a great thing to do! It sounds like you've thought it through, considered it, and balanced between what you may need and what is reasonable to lock up. Some have mistaken my casts today for "FUD", which is kinda ridiculous. I only want peeps to think carefully about their individual circumstances before locking something up for 3 months for decreasing allowance--after all, it makes no difference to me what you or anyone else does. In the heat of FOMO it can be easy to overallocate locked assets. I've been there before and regretted it. Glad you've made a decision on it! I agree with your second cast too, some of these issues I'd hope to see addressed before I commit more into the locked vault. 🙏

That’s fair - but also i think it’s reasonable to have a staking requirement i feel. Most large accounts that stood to have their degen allos reduced have been the ones benefiting the most to date from the degen ecosystem so if they are unwilling to reinvest at least some of that they have gained from it then do they really deserve that allo? More than someone willing to put their money where their mouth is? These accounts probably gained a lot of their status from having that degen to tip. Hearing them complain about it to me doesnt make sense. The number go down only is an issue tho for sure.

I locked 10k yesterday and still don’t have an allowance. But I think it is going to be ridiculous low. I totally agree that open rank should play an important role.

wishing they would just dispense with the whole ranking system . to me it just re-enforces old ideas of hierarchical structures that we desperately need to get unstuck from . given the sandbox like system we have here now excited about other tokens possibly taking up ideas that degen may not .
