Consumer Crypto

Hot/annoying take re: consumer crypto such as Rodeo and Zora:

~$0.26 per mint is still way too much for the average user to casually mint what they like at scale.

How many posts do I like on IG/minute? Maybe 3-5. This = ~$1 per minute in crypto land.

Don't get me wrong, I love the apps and I know it is the network, not them. But I still think about these things.

and what good does Liking really do, it is just a 'consumer social' habit.

Yah I usually just do one a day on Rodeo and go multi-mint on Zora for one I like since they become tradable.

They are only like Insta in design imo, doubt you would “Like” in the same style over the mid-term

I’ve always thought liking helped the algo… not sure at these prices - haven’t really scrolled there much.

Admittedly not sure it’s for me, as I enjoy art, and supporting artists just am not sure I need or want to be in that zone full time.

Will have to curate a bit and see how it goes.

This is just my own behavior, but I find myself minting more than I even like on IG because I value collecting more than social signaling

The content on Rodeo is also just awesome.
