One year post the coffee shop prop, I'm struggling to see how people in the nouns community are still confident this is a successful prop. I've asked questions a few times and its ignored, @thepark And @drewcoffman.eth post a noggle stamp cup and the nouns community high five each other. Our history is filled with delayed outcomes = bad results why is this any different? I’m extremely doubtful they are willing buyers at this point.

hey there, we have an LOI from a space being reviewed by our lawyer right now, to be sent back to the landlord shortly physical spaces take time. we’ve never stopped searching for a spot but are unwilling to put Noun in a precarious position where we cannot pay rent (and i don’t think the DAO would appreciate a coffee shop that closes within a year either). happy to dialog more about this ☻

we’ve looked at a TON of spaces and submitted / rejected multiple LOI’s, so i’m not sure what you’re talking about we’ve most recently been engaged with two spaces and had two LOIs out this is with one of the two, which accepted a proposal on our end that would give us much more favorable rent

I have many thoughts about this situation, but maybe things are handled differently across continents in these circumstances, so I'll keep it limited. What I don’t understand is this: You were funded by the DAO to purchase a business. For whatever reason, that deal fell through—this shit does happen. But why not bring the DAO along on the journey to find a new shop? Instead of months of radio silence, leaving people wondering what’s happening, we could have been part of the process, sharing in the highs and lows of the adventure with you. Its an exciting time! And at the end of the day DAO members funds.... - Are you still actively looking to purchase a business outright? Or are you considering a lease surrender now instead? - With the pivot and pop-ups, where does the budget stand now? Are we searching in the same budget ballpark? Some dialog would be appreciated i think..

i’m happy to create a propdate but (and you must understand this as a business owner) we’ve been on the cusp of “great news!” a few times only to have it not work out for one reason or another writing an update that says “we almost made it, and then we didn’t” feels like the wrong move — but this has made me wonder if the best case scenario is a simple “monthly update” documenting what was explored, because we’ve constantly been working on this we’ve explored a ton of different options, but the current LOI being reviewed by our team is nearly identical to the original proposal

You’re right! I do understand that in business, you can be on the cusp of popping champagne but miss by a bee’s dick. Many smart people in this DAO would understand that side of things... But why aren’t we, as a DAO, on this journey with you? This would address a lot of concerns. It’s actually a really exciting process, and I’m sure some members would appreciate the business insight. It doesn’t even need to be a full propdate—just a post in the Nouns channel with some photos: “Check out this venue, we loved it! Sending in our LOI.” Members of this DAO were the ones who approved the funding for you guys to purchase this business, so why not bring them along for the ride? Maybe there are people in the inner circle who know what’s going on, but from the outside, I’m sure you can appreciate that, after 12 months, some might be questioning wtf is going on.

great point! i’ll work to do a better job of that going forward ☻ i’ll do some write ups on what we’ve done and post ‘em i was personally really excited about a space in an area called West Adams but we were told at the end of the day that the landlord wanted to sell the entire property instead of parcel it it would have been incredible for events, and it had a giant coffee cup in the parking lot! check it out:
