Happy Monday, all! Here's an eye opening article about new artists struggling to make money from touring...or much money at all. It's a pretty sad state we're in. https://www.google.com/amp/s/amp.theguardian.com/music/2024/apr/25/shocking-truth-money-bands-make-on-tour-taylor-swift

This is why Web3 is so crucial. We seriously need to dismantle the current system and move the centre of gravity. We want all stories to be told. On the flip side some of the most potent movements happened despite resource pressures, perhaps even because of them - hip hop, grime, reggae, punk are testament to this.

We're refusing to mourn an era that has effectively ended. For the longest time art relied heavily on patrons. Only a handful of people could decently live off their art. We took it for granted in the 20th century, but this era is ending, and the amount of ppl able to live off their art will decrease dramatically.

Touring, streaming… things are just grossly over-saturated at this point. Great read. 10 $DEGEN
