Do TV shows still have the potential to be genuinely surprising in a "I totally didn't see that coming" way? Can't remember the last time I felt very shocked by a twist in a show largely because there are always enough theories floating around that even if they don't end up being specific, they are often pretty close to the mark or maybe I'm just jaded.

Sometimes, I wonder about the mental impact of working on products that don't endure long enough by virtue of mostly working with startups. A number of products that I've worked on over the last few years don't meaningfully exist again despite the work put in by everyone involved. All the hours and effort just get reduced to another 'failed product'

Only reason I still haven't seen 'Love lies bleeding' despite loving the trailer is because I don't like the release poster and it turns me off each time. I've been clearly discounting how much movie posters influence my choice to watch a movie until now.

Just learned about Canada & France taxing music streaming services specially in a bid to fund local content and it's pretty much yet another indirect tax on consumers because of course, the streamers will (eventually) raise subscription prices in response and transfer the cost to users.

There's such a strong undercurrent of dissatisfaction with the powerbadge/bots situation right now and I don't think it's one that'll just go away. fwiw, I think any solution that leaves new users feeling unseen isn't good in the long run especially if they are building their social graph from scratch.
