It feels like the tipping mechanics are too PvP right now. We want your suggestions on making them more positive-sum. Banning users for bad behavior hasn’t worked, so how can we tweak the tipping mechanics to encourage positive interactions instead? Share your ideas! @cadillion

If Openrank capably measures quality by checking your followers and their followers and their followers and so forth. Maybe tipping should take into account who you tip, who they tip, who they tip, etc. Frequency, amount, and diversity of tip recipients can all be tracked, measured, and tied up into a score/ signal.

putting a cap on the amount one account can tip to another each day would make farming/washing harder…but would also make the degen tipping system more complicated

In this day and age people will find work around for anything that involves earning a $. My opinion is to incentivize people to search and report bad actors. At the end of the day was created for the people/community so let the community weed out the bad actors so you can focus on scaling DL3 and the wider picture.

whats pvp about it? dont eliminate bad behavior... recorrect it. warning systems with dilution values attached. the more a 'bad actor' continues to act negatively perhaps make their tips less effective. they can still own a bag but the more they abuse their power the less effective they become on a time weighted scale.

I know there are different types of farmers, but by looking at some of the farmer accounts that are doing extremely "well" this season, 1. They were NOT successful in Season 5 while they were somewhat active till Season 4. The S5 mechanism has some things to learn from. 2. Banning in previous seasons didn't work because they could just start a new account. However, in this season there is a fund lock. The S6 mechanism lowered the bar for some farmers. I vote for at least further integrating other signals such as social scores.

A rule that can be played but very difficult I believe is to have a cap in tips and a cap how many times we can tip. for example a degen tip will be max 200-500 $degen and 20-50 tips per day. Also tipping a user only once a per day in combination with this

The more people you reach with a certain minimum amount of degens the better. Washing is bad. Overtipping from own supply is good (look at ham) Hoarding(meaning rolling tips over) is a bad idea. Tipping non-PB users is good. Tipping artists and developers/builders is good. Tipping every day is good. Tipping 100% or more is good. Tipping zero is bad (although these degens should be burned, which is good. And incentives tipping in the first place)

I think you should introduce a mechanics that rewards number of tips, ie how many diferent fid’s tipped in a day. Also put a floor to it so that you do not end up with 100 x 1degen tips.

Maybe limit the amount that can be tipped at any one time, this may deter or reduce the large tip for tip swapping between whales and encourage a wider distribution amongst communities. Tipping began as a gesture of appreciation to foster building and quality and has now become a means to feather one’s own nest.

Instead of banning, community-led locked $degen slashing Banning doesn’t work, but slashing locked $degen via an elected council from the community could work. There’s more to lose.
