Not sure how I feel about this. You have to pay to join Farcaster, and now you'll have to pay to join a channel. It feels like layers of paywalls, which isn't a fun game to play as a user. I believe users should be paid, not the other way around, since they're the ones generating the content.

It’s opt-in and the fee goes to the host / curator of the channel not the protocol.

maybe income generated can be redistributed to other pass holders

@hypersub does this well. im hoping channels end up adopting the protocol
