absolutely, it's a property bubble: cheap CoL is that far away from source of income. Tokyo's figured a lot of things, like capsule hotels, because the market there has considerably less of a problem with claustrophobia. idk where she was though, but there's definitely an extensive problem with the housing & transit.

that might be the dream for some, but I've lived in middle-of-nowhere midwest, and deep in coastal cities, as well as suburbs. there's just a concave tradeoff; the economic opportunity comes with an inflated living cost. hopefully society leans further into WFH, but that's not the majority of the labor market right now
