you know, how was intended?

do you know that base does less than 1% of meme volume?

do you see solana now taking consumer? 

do you know how many more projects are lined up in the vein?

do you see virtuals moving to sol?

do you realize that the only coins able to survive on base anymore are now forced into marketing on x or moving to sol?

you’d think cb would lean into the builders who are building on their chain, considering how they talk about how they’re all for the builders

me starting to think, this year…

base carves out a value prop or becomes the usdc chain & fc gets pasta’d to sol

we have 6 months to make a dent or we’re probably cooked in bera

it’s been 3 years on both sides; there is no new market… only old

Base is good in spreading awareness cause Jesse is positively loud, but if there is no interest in the chain it’s as good as nothing. Base can never compete with solana on some basis as Solana is already recognized as the best chain to get rich, so base has to lean on something else besides this bringing people onchain bias.

this all sounds great but numbers don’t lie

I don't see it as such an existential battle for Base. Base is much newer than Sol and more fully developed. Also Base is just a small part of Eth so it being 1% of all meme volume seems pretty decent. Personally I haven't seen anything on Sol that makes me want to bridge over. Some are doing well with the gambling over there but I don't feel like there's any edge bc it's all memes so I wouldn't know what to do. Base still seems like the place to be for preparing for the future 🤷‍♂️

We’ve been building community & onboarding “sticky” users to Base for nearly a year now…and it all started here on this very app. 

We also played a part in assisting with onboarding users here to Farcaster during one of their largest growth cycles we’ve seen yet (Q1 2024) due to the origins of the coin itself. 

Memes weren’t exactly treated well by the Base gatekeepers early on, so it’s honestly a breath of fresh air to see the change in attitude to be honest.

Not sure it’s a great idea to villlainize the trojan horse (imo)
