I believe it will be only useful for hibernating accounts for later rehydration. (to cut state rent) Every other use case seems to be quite expensive.

IMHO, L2Beat's/Vitalik's Stages are incomplete. For Stage 2, in addition, - Alternate sequencing triggered within 1 epoch (i.e. 6.4 minutes). Currently, Optimism is 12 hours, which is not acceptable (preferably, there's real-time distributed sequencing) - Security council has pause rights only; upgrades even for onchain provable bugs must go through governance, emergency path with >X% approval Then, there should be an optional Stage 3, or Stage X, where: - Based or based-like sequencing is mandated - Security council is dissolved - Smart contracts upgrades require >Y% (80%?) approval from the protocol's full governance, in addition to >30d delay For big-tent high-value L2s like Arbitrum One, Stage 3 should be the target. For most, Stage 2 should be perfectly fine, and even Stage 1 enough for many lower-value app-specific L2s.

Verkle trees are about flattening the MPT. It will give smaller proofs which will stateless clients. End game is to separate execution and validation cleanly so you can validate the chain with your phone while also dramatically increasing gas limits.

No question about it. We need more blobs, more blobs now! I hope with Pectra, at least we can get to 8 blobs per block. I think bandwidth is still the most important bottleneck that needs to be solved.

I’d be happy to carry laptop sized starlink dish everywhere I go if it was available worldwide with reasonable cost. Having broadband in remote places is game changer.

Working on something but the thread is so long so I couldn’t put on FC yet. It is a procedurally generated pfp (no svg stitching) with 4096 bits of DNA. Both initial lite version and actual version will fund public goods. https://x.com/ufukaltinok/status/1771604031976411521?s=46&t=4O-7BFOx9vweuaYVtDG6SA

“73 is the 21st prime number. Its mirror, 37, is the 12th, and its mirror, 21, is the product of multiplying seven and three ... and in binary, 73 is a palindrome, 1001001, which backwards is 1001001.”  Another great episode by @veritasium https://youtu.be/d6iQrh2TK98?si=zZJyiCspoOoNSOOz

Suppose you had a successful ETF launch and results were better than all your expectations. Now you have another ETF coming up with similar characteristics and you want your customers to have even better upside after approval, what do you do?

Unpopular opinion: EVM will stay dominant longer than most think. - Constraints thrives creativity: crazy gas optimizations equals lower cpu cycle optimizations. - Easy to understand, easy to experiment - Mature tooling which gets better and better: forge, viem, wagmi, ponder...

The problem is generally the tone they’re using. They should be less spiky.

BSC has been targeting 18x what Base does for over 2 years, and that’s with the consensus overhead. I think being over cautious at this point is just wrong. Move fast break things doesn’t apply to L1 but it applies to L2s.
