I don't know if this counts, but I'd work on @warpcast or @zora love building consuner products (did it for 5 years at coinbase), love their products in particular (and think they will reach billions), and love the people working on them.

besides buying BTC/ETH, I'm fairly confident that my first real onchain transaction was doing a prediction on augur (first onchaij decentralized prediction market) back in 2016 huge shout-out to Joey Krug for pioneering and folks like @polymarket for carrying the torch today onchain prediction markets will be huge

I think India is already a global leader in bringing people onchain. some of the best onchain builders in the world are from or based there. base is just starting expanding our focus there and I'm excited to build with more builders from India - if that's you, get in touch!

I don't know about warpcast, but I think an awesome starting point would be someone building a degen specific client that has $DEGEN deeply integrated (e.g. one click tip) this could pair really nicely with a DEGEN L3 on @base where every tip could be a real onchain transaction. perfect use case for L3. cc @jacek

1/ when I was planning to leave Coinbase in early 2021 to go work on my own thing after 5 years of leading engineering for our consumer products, my boss and then head of engineering, Manish Gupta, asked me to take time off before I made a decision. he worked hard with HR to give me flexibility as I transitioned.

1/ the core team is primarily based in the Americas right now, but we are working to change that. just made our first hires in Europe and are actively hiring globally right now. this is probably the biggest baked in bias we have and I'm very focused on fixing it. base is for everyone and we need to reflect that.

I don't think it makes sense to put a web2 wrapper around onchain - it breaks the best parts of crypto in fundamental ways (e.g. composability) I do think we should hold onchain products to the same quality bar as web2 (really high!) and that it's only just become possible to meet or exceed it thanks to infra progress

1/ base is structured as a startup within coinbase and I'm given a huge amount of trust and leeway to execute. we have a small, incredibly high powered team that ships. we also benefit from tapping into the larger, scaled infra and talent of the parent company, which can help us move fast WITH SCALE when we choose.

negativity towards "airdrop farmers" is misplaced and biased. hundreds of thousands (millions?) of people all over the world have decided that doing microwork for protocols is their best path to economic prosperity. that is incredible and should be celebrated. it's on us to enable them to contribute positively.

1/ I minted my punk in the initial mint when I was on a plane to Chicago. have no recollection of actually doing it but from tx data I can confirm that was the case. I then didn't do anything with it for years because I misremembered what it looked like, thought it didn't look like me, and just had a regular photo
