Linux is still too messy for a daily driver IMO:

- Ubuntu: snaps are dumb e.g. I can't use a locally installed font in a snap-installed browser

- Mint: second time in 6 months now where I'm stuck with a problem where the only solution seems to be a complete reinstall

Learning curve, but as a dev machine once you learn how to break out of the kiddie pool they put you in by default it’s a great machine. 1,000,000x better than windows because it’s unix and comes out of the box set up to be a dev machine.

MacBook Air M2 is the best front-end device machine I’ve ever owned. Plenty of power, absurdly good battery life (best if you can avoid Docker). Strongly recommend you check the Apple
Refurbs, they come like-new and it’s almost always how I get mine. 

Also, spec-to-spec is hard to nail. Any M-series chip is gonna scream, I promise. If you have the money for a Pro more power to you.

They just put up the price 10% here and I was struggling with it, seeing a Windows (/Linux) laptop with 2x the specs at 1/2th the price, and now this happened... think I'm going to do it
