This seems like a design space that @daylightcomputer is well positioned for—I heard about this last year but didn't seem that convinced at the time that they could pull it off

Hardware is just one piece of the puzzle, having a reliable OS that is constantly maintained and updated (esp for a unique device like this) is a bigger task

Until the delays stop @daylightcomputer is vaporware, which is a shame.

I might have gotten the same email. A "shipping confirmation" that makes a vague promise to ship by EoY. 

Tbd. No tracking number yet (but quite a few emails saying "it is back in stock, order another!")

I got my delivery notice a few weeks ago for mid January

My partner got hers and likes it a lot. It took a bit to get in, but it's not vaporware.
