I really enjoyed reading Hillbilly Elegy several years ago. Inhaled it over the course of a few beach days the summer it came out. I remember enjoying JD's writing and thinking he seemed like a real good guy. I'm an optimist by nature, and I'm not blind to our problems, but I'm bullish on America today.

I have not read the book, nor do I know much about JD, but curious if you could expand on how today specifically makes you bullish/optimistic. It’s not that I feel the opposite, I just continue to feel ‘meh’
