ok the fast approval of EIP-7514 actually makes me question the ethereum credible neutrality for the first time ever if this goes live in Dencun, it clearly shows that the core devs can push changes to the network at will

Size of stake is a factor in picking which validators propose blocks, and so larger stake means you get to propose blocks more often. This means higher stake -> higher MEV with a few steps in b/w. This would be a significant discussion to have when they also want to prioritize sharding the chain.
