The fact that the new administration is pro crypto means crypto is pwned as they would never support anything that didn’t allow surveillance or undermine hegemony.

Tradfi coder by day, hacker by night. Doesn’t know night from day. Freelance scribe. Dad cook. Dog butler.  Happy Grandpa. Draws badly.

Or just that they go wherever the money is...

this is what concerns me, specifically for ethereum. bitcoin is a known quantity, easy to surveil and threatening no one. eth threatens lots of existing powerful players! how long until one of them lobbies the WH?

I think a lot of them see crypto as a way to make money (e.g., WLF), which, as long as that remains true for them as individuals, the ability - or lack thereof - to control crypto remains a low-priority concern.

I don’t think Trump understands crypto enough to think this through. He shook his spear at BRICS despite their leveraging crypto technology and supports crypto on-shore at the same time. The cognitive dissonance is stunning.
