Roam is Joining Coinbase! We are happy to announce that the team at roam.xyz, The Onchain Browser & Search Engine, will be starting a new journey with @coinbase and @base. The cofounders of Roam (myself, @selfishfish and @jagra.eth are joining Coinbase to help accelerate the company’s onchain consumer efforts. We launched Roam because we believe that the foundation of the internet is evolving and becoming more open and permissionless. Our goal was to provide users with a mobile browser that was built for this onchain future. We are proud of the product we built and happy it was so well received by the community. We’re winding down the Roam app and joining Coinbase because this is where we can now have the biggest impact building products that support this new open financial system. We want to thank everyone who supported us throughout our journey with Roam. We are particularly grateful to all our early users who were willing to explore something new and provided invaluable feedback. Thank you!

The /scroll airdrop yesterday resulted in a period of high blob demand: blob base fee peaked over 30 Gwei, with the network handling it gracefully this time. This should provide good data for informing the ongoing discussion over whether to increase blob target/max in PectrA.

Tomorrow is another Wednesday which means an important thing on @base -- it's pump day :) Base is pumping up the per-block gas target from 12 to 13 Mgas/s. Gas target increases happen every Wednesday and are part of continued, planned scaling efforts to bring a billion people onchain, and to make Base as fast and as inexpensive for everyone around the world to use as possible. For builders and almost all Base users, no changes are necessary. But if you're running a Base Node and notice any latency after the increase: 1. Monitor CPU and Disk I/O usage 2. Enhance disk throughput and use disks with lower read/write latency (NVMe SSDs recommended) 3. Improve CPU, focusing on single-core speed If you need help, have questions, or just want to hang out, don't hesitate to come visit the node-operators channel in the Base Discord.
