Top 3 takeaways 1. The healthcare system is not built to keep you healthy. You have to take charge of your own health. 2. There’s pretty much no good data on diets. Just keep your calories in check and get enough protein. 3. Exercise, exercise, exercise.

don't be too disillusioned by the book, it got a lot of things right but also a lot of them wrong e.g., we have a lot of solid dieting data *that works* both on the population and on the individual levels here's my thorough review yabc.borodutch.com/outlive

That’s such a good articulation, the most visceral one I’ve read this year. health span vs lifespan was a confronting model— especially paired with the whole what you will need now to do x at 80, big reality check— it’s like a mortality simulator or something
