the older i get the more i realize how horrible the average indian diet is 

but also how hard it is to convince my parents to change their ways at their age

Very very carb heavy, barely any protein

It worked well when our ancestors (not that long ago, includes my parents) used to work on farms on a daily basis and do heavy manual labour

But in today's world its horrible

Perhaps, yeah. Though most of what we eat here isnt coming from American farms. Its just what we eat. Ton of breads and rice and measly protein sources

Global south has this problem I think due to the abundance and availability of genetically modified foods that were drought resistant.
