Surprised by this as well. POAP is great, but organizing prior to an event via onchain credentials feels like a no brainer.

Are there alternatives to POAPs? Taking scalpers into account even if they push prices upwards the original holders could still get royalties. This would also make speculation harder and make it more expensive for scalpers decreasing the incentive

Even better you could force sales through your own marketplace where prices are controlled to stop scalping
