im sure you meet lots of people who make you think "man, you'd really benefit from being less stuck in your current ideas about work" what are your best strategies to nudge them to open their mind without seeming too preachy?

Yes, I can spot these things very easily. But also my path was long and painful so I don’t think I have any magic bullets. In fact, I try not to shift people by talking to them. I think my books are a much better synthesis of this. And people can spend more time with it on their own terms. If people are open to it, I generally just ask questions What is work? Do you need to make money from it? If so, how much money? Are you sure about that? Have you tested it? What’s the least amount of money you could make and still thrive ? Are you sure you want all your wants right now? What are the things you didn’t have 10 years ago that didn’t bother you ? What are the nonnegotiable desire desires?
