Not sure how I feel about this. You have to pay to join Farcaster, and now you'll have to pay to join a channel. It feels like layers of paywalls, which isn't a fun game to play as a user. I believe users should be paid, not the other way around, since they're the ones generating the content.

Doesn’t Hypersub only reward the owner? If I went to anyone’s pass-gated channel and created content there, I wouldn’t be rewarded if we followed the Hypersub model

Interesting, thanks. Looks like it’s only rewarding loyalty though, not participation / content contribution. I think the proposed mechanism would be quite different here, since users of a channel have the potential to create much more content that even the most dedicated host, who can even be passive (janitor mod)
