Pricing everything is the problem Endless growth requires turning everything into a market, which has a commoditizing effect — the river no longer has a life, it’s an input into the Nestlé plant Ironically we lose the most valuable things because we’re so hellbent on pricing them

Do we want to? Maybe it’s for the best that we only quantify money. Maybe quantifying social interactions leads to transactional relationships. I know where you’re coming from, that not being able to price in these externalities degrades some aspect of life.
