It's crazy there are dev tools in crypto that aren't open source

Must capture value must seek rent must satisfy VC pockets 😵‍💫

My issue with it is mostly it's a bad selfish decision most of the time resulting from not understanding how crypto network effects work

I'd be less triggered by it if it was actually a good selfish decision

I think it is even crazier when dev tools are just wrappers over a proprietary API

You know what blew my mind today? Someone reminded me about BitTorrent Sync and then I looked it up and realized it’s proprietary code.

… because no one has figured out how to monetize open source at scale 👆👆👆
