Any credit card nerds here? Trying to decide between Chase Saphire Reserve and Amex Gold

Want to optimize for 
1) travel
2) signup bonus
3) food

Chase is more expensive but has free citi bikes which is clutch for NYC

Get the Chase (I’d go for the preferred)

Chase is much more restrictive on applications, you can get an Amex later much more easily.

Optimizing for SUB is the best strategy + sign up for a new card once you hit spend. The extra percent you eke out on categories is much less than bonuses

Do you keep the cards for more than a year or cancel most? I thought short term accounts are generally bad for credit score but sounds like maybe not lol

Sounds like a lot but at like 4 cards per year it’s not too much to manage

I was just going thru my redemptions and I think I’ve gotten ~$35k of free travel out of it so I think it’s worth it haha
