free web3 startup idea: let me easily write an encrypted note with each Metamask transaction. Trying to go back during tax season and remember why I sent 0.0069 eth to some random wallet is a nightmare.

paging @cassie - would be curious to hear if you have any thoughts on the easiest way to pull this off (for somebody with 0 cryptography experience) Message + private key signature = hash then later the same key + hash reveals the message. Idk if it’s feasible but seems like a fun eth denver hackathon project

I’m not sure I understand what you’re describing, using a key and a hash does not reveal a message, unless you mean the value produced by signing the message is the key, used to encrypt the message separately. But doing this is very poor key hygiene — a signature should not be used as an encryption key.
