Yo, ATX! I used to live here for over a decade, but now it’s been like 8 years since I last visited. Things change. What should I see, eat, do this weekend? Best consignment/thrift spots? I’ll be staying in East Austin. Yes, I will be visiting HEB.

Top Drawer Thrift, Uncommon Objects, Austin Pets Alive, and Pavement are all really great vintage/thrift spots. For food/drink: De Nada Cantina and Cosmic Saltillo are fairly new and great digs. Red River & E 6th St are still holding it down for nightlife. Last, I really recommend going to the new Waterloo Park near the capital. It's a beautiful new city-center park and part of the larger initiative to restore Waller Creek and its trail system to the river.

Welcome back! Town Lake trail is still great. The off-campus thrift stores (Buffalo Exchange etc...) seem ~fine. Magnolia Cafe has been replaced with a fried-chicken thing that's pretty good. Chili's on 45th has fallen off. PintHouse Pizza is good. Picnik is expensive but healthy + good.

I moved away as well but still visit. All the Austin Pets Alive Thrift shops are great as well as Austin Creative Reuse. The Austin Central Market still can't be beat. Take a cooler and bring home this butter, it's in the cheese department though. You will want to just bite chunks out of it, it's so good.
