One of the biggest eye-openers for me while traveling is the massive differences in the cost of food. Let’s try something: post a photo of a meal and include the location + how much the bill was I’ll go first: Buenos Aires ~$30 USD

Anywhere between min. $100-$300 in Istanbul. The low tier here is "better than the average" premium mediocre. Anything cheaper will get you probably poisoned. The upper one is usually fine dines specialising in Japanese cuisine, and they are really OK. Sorry, no photos. Just inferring from your menu.

You’re talking about just sushi, right? I’ve definitely had cheap street food in Istanbul and didn’t get poisoned

Especially exotic seafood. I do not prefer any street food around. I have had my experience in the past as a prolonged resident. It's not specific to Istanbul either. I'd never taste any street food anywhere on Earth.

&, lately, even the most average street food is served as a premium on Istanbul streets other than a couple of pretzel sellers. It is getting to the point where there is only a couple of dollars discrepancy between the best of the worst, and the worst of the best.
